Grrr... Fright and innocence
Anthropomorphism and plant forms are the ingredients of this series (in this case the sweet potato).The theme of the portrait is not far off and, once more, it is not illustrated in a conventional manner.
Half way between dreams and comedy this collection of creatures, kinds of parodies of humans, is an homage to innocence in sense : Esprit de nature. Without innocence there cannot be wonder and wonder is an open door to disruption and knowledge. The care given to the tactility of the finishes influences the imagination and introduces us to a world at the crossroads between theatre and painting
